trance[]control

Real Name:
Alexander Carlborg; Andreas Wennersköld
Profile:
The production duo trance[]control was founded early 1997 by the cousins Alexander Carlborg & Andreas Wennersköld. And using the former platform MP3.com the duo quickly grew to become one of the most downloaded bands online.

Their style & sound can generally be described as hard, progressive & melodic trance. But keep in mind that trance is a very broad genre where the lines between the different sub-genres are extremely thin. The bands specialty has over the years become to produce music that appeal people that normally wouldn’t listen to this type of music. The age of their listeners range from 10-65 years, though the more common group of people are between 15-30 years old.

After a 6 year long coffee break, trance[]control has returned. January 2012 marks the point of a new beginning as Alex made his first new release named Pangea, quickly followed by his second single, Phanthalassa.

Reviews & Discussion

This is techno/trance for people who haven't heard it, or generally don't like it. They were the 1st group I ever heard, and now I am the biggest technojunkie in my town, and probably state, and it's thanks to these guys. And for the record, their best tracks are probably,

"Gothenburg Sound"

"Sunrise"

and

"Scream"

"Intelligent" is good, but it lacks a true melody, and isn't as gripping as the others. I would also recommend "Progression," and if you're into hard and heavy dancing, try "Imported Nightmare (Chu-Chu Mix)" that song is great for a dark rave. These guys know how to produce, and I hope they continue to do so!

Trance[]control makes good music, but it lacks originality and most of their songs sound very similar.

These guys really know how to produce. In 2002, and currently, they are doing a project in which they are trying to procuce approximately one track per week. Their drive really is amazing. I recommend "Gothenburg Sound" and "Intelligent." They are both excellent tracks.
